Antonio Francisco Achadinha

Antonio Francisco Achadinha passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and friends on April 21, 2019.  Predeceased by daughter Maria Deus, he is survived by his wife, Maria Estrela, the love of his life of 51 years; daughters, Santo Cristo (Scott), Zinnia, Luiza (Shane), Margaret (Tony) and grandchildren, Chelsea, Sarah, Olivia, Preston, Anthony and Mia.

Antonio was born on March 12, 1943 in Ponta Garca, Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal to parents, Jose Pacheco and Maria Arruda and was one of nine children.  He married Maria on January 27, 1968 and had five children; immigrated to Canada in 1972, where he worked in construction as a Bricklayer.

A loving family man, dedicated to his family, he was hard-working, loved gardening, fishing, cooking, and watching hockey.  We will miss the sound of his whistle heard throughout the day and all the fun family summer barbecues.

A very special thank you for the loving care and kindness provided by the doctors, (especially Dr. White and Dr. Farrell), nurses and staff from the Saanich Community Health Services (especially Elizabeth).

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4635 Elk Lake Drive, Victoria, BC followed by Interment at Royal Oak Burial Park.
