Don passed away unexpectedly at home on June 16, 2016. He was predeceased by his wife, Barb in 2002 and is survived by his children, Kim (Keith), Kevin, Ken (Shelley) and grandchildren, David, Laura, Kristine, Robert, Zach, Isabela, Dustin, Devin and Dysin. Don is also survived by his sister, Mickey.
Don spent his working life in electronics and management with the Department of National Defence in Esquimalt. He received his initial electronics training in the Canadian Air Force. In his later years, Don was proud to serve as a member of the Sooke Lions Club. Dad was a true family man, had an insatiable love for cars and a deep interest in all things historical. He had a wisdom and knowledge that rivaled an encyclopedia.
We will miss you dearly dad and grandad.
Dad’s wishes were for no service, “just a big party”, which we will honour at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, he would like any donations to be made to BC Children’s Hospital.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

dan deringer I have fond memories working with Don at SRUP. A terrific supervisor, who I recall as being soft spoken and very knowledgeable tradesman.
Don was a true gentleman we lost a fine man.
