1942-2016
Jeannette passed away in Victoria on December 23, 2016 in the presence of her loving family. Jeannette leaves behind to mourn, Don, her husband of 46 years, daughter Mara and son-in-law Andreas.
The family is extremely proud of the example set for others by Jeannette in community service across Canada as R.N., Public Health, VON Nurse and Occupational Therapist. People saw Jeannette as lively, humorous and above all effective in helping others. She was as well, an ardent gardener in the Victoria scene.
Jeannette’s family is happy to celebrate the gift of her life.
Those who wish may remember Jeannette by contributing to the Canadian Ovarian Cancer Society.

Devon Windsor-Doyle Though we never had the opportunity to meet, if you are half the woman that your daughter is I know the world has lost a bright star. Condolences to Mara, Andreas and family with love from Devon and Greg.

Beth Z Our heartfelt condolences to the family. We are deeply saddened by your loss and think of you often. I have great memories of Jeannette’s cooking (she really was an amazing cook and Mara is lucky to have inherited that!), her big smile and chuckles, our talks in Mara’s garden (I’d often find her gardening there in the morning when visiting Mara), and the cups of coffee we shared. She’ll be truly missed. Just know that I am here for you, and please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything I can do to help.
I’ve made a donation in her honour and really hope that more research will lead to reliable screening test for this horrible cancer, and better treatment. She was taken too early… 🙁 Hugs to you all. Love, Beth & Bella
I’m so sorry to learn of Jeannette’s untimely passing. I’ll always remember our lovely lunches and visits we shared after our days at the allotment garden. Les and I both send our heartfelt condolences and will be thinking of you in the days ahead.
