
Mom passed away peacefully in the early morning of November 26, 2010 in Victoria, BC. She was born to Cyril and Grace Wile on September 13, 1930 in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.
She was predeceased by husband John Lawrence Maybin in 2002 and son Tim in 2006. Mom is survived by her sister Jean, sons Kerry, Kelly, Pete and John, and grandchildren Brody and Sarah. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Mom graduated from the Halifax Children’s Hospital School of Nursing on April 17, 1952. She moved to Victoria in 1958 to work as a Registered Nurse. Mom and Dad were introduced in Victoria and married on September 12, 1959. Mom continued to work while raising a family and retired from the Memorial Pavilion at Royal Jubilee Hospital in 1994. In her retirement, Mom spent her time enjoying her garden and going out with friends. For many years Mom and Dad were active members of the Victoria chapter of the BC Friends of Schizophrenics.
A memorial service will be held at Sequoia Gardens Memorial, 4665 Falaise Drive, on December 3, 2010 at 1:00pm with Ruth McCowan officiating. A reception following the service will be held at the same location. Mom will be laid to rest with Dad at Royal Oak Burial Park.
