It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather and uncle. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Alice, and sister Lilli Lunde. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Marie; daughter Kathy (Gene) Lehna; son Frank Rasmussen; step-daughter Rosemarie (Al) Anger; grandchildren Michael and Cassandra Lehna and many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his cat “Bubbles”. Ben was born in Copenenhagen, Denmark and immigrated to Canada in 1956. He always felt so proud to be a Canadian. He settled in Victoria with Marie and built their dream home that he called his Hatley Castle. Ben worked for Farmer Construction for many years, and always spoke highly of the Farmer team. Ben will always be remembered for his zest for life and his big smile. Family and friend gatherings were always a delight to Ben, whether it was a Danish feast, playing pool with his buddies, fishing or camping, he always enjoyed life to its fullest.
A Visitation will be held for family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday March 23rd at McCall Bros. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday March 29th at 11:00 am at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson at Vancouver St. with a reception to follow.

My heart is breaking for you. I know what your feeling and there isn’t much I can say to make it any better. Your Far was an incredible man, someone who always made me feel loved. Someone who loved a good laugh, loved good food, loved his family more than anything in the world. You were his JEWEL, as I’m sure you know. I can honestly say I loved him, he always made me feel like family even when I wasn”t anymore. You have so many special memories I’m sure. Cause you Dad was special.
