Beverley Joan Carr was born January 11, 1939 in Prince George, BC.  She sadly passed away just four days shy of her birthday on January 7, 2023 at the Broadmead Veterans Memorial Lodge in Victoria, BC after a long battle with Dementia.  Beverley, better known as Bev, also lived in Crescent Beach before settling in Victoria, BC.

Bev met, fell in love with and married the love of her life, John Carr.  They had two boys, Tony and Greggor (Brad).  Bev had many achievements in her life.  She taught Art, English and Home Economics for forty years starting in 1960 at Royal Oak School, as well as several other schools.  Bev had many goals in life and was determined to obtain her Masters which she did at the age of fifty years from the University of Victoria in Education – Fine Arts & Curriculum.  Her preceding Bachelor’s degree was in Education – Fine Arts & English.

Bev had many loves in her life.  She was a creator of all forms of art, including painting, drawing and sewing and pottery.  She had many talents, such as canning, writing poetry and stories and she was known for making the best mayonnaise.  Bev had a love of gardening, golf, exercising, cooking, summer camping, jewellery, and always looked her best at all of her and John’s many dinners and lavish parties.

In her late life, Bev and John spent their time travelling, all over Canada and the US in their fifth wheel. They also travelled all over North America, every continent and many countries; Australia alone, 7 times!! Egypt, Jordan, the Dead Sea, Hong Kong, Japan and Europe. They were also very avid boaters for 30 years, enjoying the Gulf and San Juan Islands and long boat trips to Desolation Sound. Beverley led a full and happy life with her husband and dedicated herself to caring for him as he fought Alzheimer’s right to the end.

Bev is predeceased by her parents Robert Douglas Greggor, and Phinitta Wigglesworth.  She is also predeceased by her sister Betty Lou, brother Robert, and love of her life, John William Carr.  Beverley leaves behind her son Tony, his wife Laura, and her granddaughter Samantha (Corey)  who just had her first child Lileah, Bev’s first great-grand-daughter.  As well as her youngest son Brad, his ex-wife Catherine who bore her two grandchildren Jonathan and Mariah, and his second wife Diane.  Bev is also survived by her sisters Anne, Margaret and Judy.

Please join us in a celebration of her life on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 2:00 pm, in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.
