Bev passed away peacefully on October 2, 2011 at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. She was born in Saskatoon in 1927 and came to Victoria shortly thereafter when her father first took a position running the Hotel Douglas. Bev was predeceased by her dear husband, Ken. When Ken joined the Air Force, Bev enjoyed their postings in Vancouver, Ottawa and France before returning to Victoria where they both worked in the hotel business, most memorably 20 years at Harbour Towers. Bev leaves her two loving daughters, Charmaine (Barry) and Deborah (Murray); three wonderful granddaughters, Lyndsay (Anthony), Bailey (Nick) and Caroline (Andrew) and two great-grandchildren, Jack and Ruby. Bev’s family would like to thank the outstanding professional staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital Extended Care. They have become Bev’s extended family and their kindness and caring has touched our hearts.

A Memorial Service will be held in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow in the McCall’s Family Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bev’s memory would be appreciated to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Society, 2166 Mount Newton Cross Road, Saanichton, BC V8M 2B2. To Debbie and family: Thinking of you all today. I have wonderful fond memories of your mother/grandmother/great-grandmother. When I started working at the Harbour Towers in the 80’s I worked with her in Reservations. I learned so much from her, particularly how to overbook! I am sorry that I will not be there today. Warmest regards, Arden Sutherland

To Charmaine, Debbie and families, I was so disheartened to hear of the passing of your Mother Bev. The special group gets smaller as the years go past. Mom and Dad loved your Mother and Father for their long lasting friendship. I am currently in Arizona and will not be able to attend your mother’s service but my thoughts are with you.
