Passed away peacefully in the arms of family and friends September 22, 2008. Born October 29, 1944 at Kimberley, BC. Predeceased by her father, James M. Carmichael. Survived by her mother, Helen V. Carmichael, Creston, BC; her husband, Donald of Saanichton; daughter, Verna of Victoria; son, Peter (Patty) and grandson, Iain of Middleton, NS. Also by her sister, Reva (Gerhard) Bierman, Prince George, BC; brother, James B. Carmichael, Sardis, BC as well as many other relatives and valued friends. Bon was a loving daughter, wife, mother and a proud grandmother. Until recently she was on the Nursing Staff of the Extended Care Unit, Saanich Peninsula Hospital. Special thanks to Drs. Hilary Wass and J. Chris Bosman and staff of Saanich Peninsula Hospital for their loving and compassionate care of Bon in her final illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bon’s name to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation, Saanichton, BC or to the Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Vancouver General Hospital, Vancouver, BC.
A Memorial Celebration of Bon’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 2964 Richmond Road, Victoria, BC on Monday, September 29th, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Cremation. Interment to follow.
