    Dear Brenda and family:
I am so saddened to learn of Brian’s passing. I was the Human Resources manager at The Lodge at Broadmead so had a close working relationship with Brian for many years. He was such a nice fellow and such a hard worker, although he was always up for a good gab session, too! It was obvious from our conversations that he was very close to his family. I hadn’t seen Brian for a number of years but had hoped he would have a long and happy retirement. I am so sorry that that was not meant to be. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss.

Brian and I worked on the same team under Betty Stenton at Ministry of Health payroll for a few years in the early 90s. He was quick to offer help and worked hard. He always a funny story about his previous job at the logging camp or one of his own escapades. He was very supportive when I returned to work after my dad died. On a few occasions I was the lucky recipient of his Mexican resort T-shirts. I saw him only occasionally once he transferred to Broadmead, looked forward to getting caught up with chats after the monthly Payroll committee meetings. We lost touch after he retired. I will miss him. My condolences to his family and friends.

Brenda, it was great having all of you folks sharing good times in the old neighbourhood. I’ll always remember that…and your Mom and Dad… and Brian.
    Be well.

  • Holly McCoy

I worked with Brian for many years at the Lodge at Broadmead. I will always remember his quiet, professional attitude and his great sense of humour. My sympathies to his family and friends.

I first met Brian in the 1990’s when he started work with the Payroll Office in the Ministry of Health and we worked together there for some years. Even after Brian moved on to work in other Payroll offices with the Provincial Government we kept in contact through our work, consulting one another on how best to tackle a new project, meet onerous deadlines and such.
Brian was a very soft-spoken man but someone who enjoyed a good laugh, too. He was kind to his co-workers, poured all his energy into his work, and was the first to offer help to others who needed it when they were facing deadlines. I know over the years Brian had a number of serious health issues but still when we would meet somewhere, in a store or on the street, he always asked after others we had both worked with. I was very sorry to learn of his passing and send you my sincere sympathies.
