October 19, 1959 – February 19, 2011

Bruce Creswick passed away suddenly at his home on Salt Spring Island. Born and raised in Victoria, Bruce graduated from Mt. Douglas Secondary School and attended UVic, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Music and Education. Bruce, along with wife Carolyn, moved to Salt Spring Island in 1989 where he taught at Fernwood Elementary School and then Salt Spring Island Middle School. Bruce achieved his Masters Degree in Music Education in 1995. A driving force for music on Salt Spring and a compassionate, enthusiastic, and gifted educator, “Mr. C” touched the lives of countless students.

A profoundly devoted husband and father, Bruce leaves behind his loving wife Carolyn of 27 years, his children Matthew & Catelyn, mother Fran, father Hugh (predeceased in 2000), brother Mark (Julie), sister Kathy (Chris), mother & father in-law Mabel & Martin, sister in-law Cathryn (Spencer), nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, colleagues, students, and many friends.

Bruce possessed a strong and steady Faith in God. He daily attempted to demonstrate God’s love through both his words and deeds. While we do not understand why he was taken, we rest in our Faith. His family takes absolute comfort that they will be reunited in Heaven. Romans 8:28.

A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 1:00pm at the Salt Spring Island Middle School. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Matthew & Catelyn’s education fund. Please email educationfund@compulinks.com for details. Condolences may be offered at www.mccallbros.com
