Carl departed on June 14, 2013 to be with the God he loved and served. Predeceased by his four sisters and one brother and his grandson Steven Carl. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 63 years, Erika and daughter Marianne (Albert) French, and sons Jurgen (Wendy) and Thomas (Kelly). Grandchildren Daniel (Stella) French, Heather (Russell) Petrie, Celina (Adolfo) Guzman, Jonathan (Sarah), Caleb, Elisa, Cody (Janet), Chantel (Joelon) Dodge, and Chase. He had three great-grandchildren. He was born in Hamburg, Germany on April 30,1925. After the war Carl immigrated with his family to Montreal in 1954, and moved to Victoria in 1966. He worked in the automotive repair business, and was always ready to service vehicles (at little or no cost), provide encouragement, or share his faith with those he met. He had a servant’s heart and was happiest when helping others. He loved people and was an avid storyteller. Throughout his life he faced adversity with good cheer and frequently commented on God’s goodness to him.
A memorial service will be held at Oaklands Chapel, 2736 Fernwood Road, Saturday, June 22nd at 2:00 PM. Donations can be made in memory of Carl Schulz to: Imadene Foundation, c/o Oaklands Chapel, 2736 Fernwood Rd., Victoria B.C. V8T 3A4. Condolences may be offered below.
