December 23, 1930 – July 13, 2011

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Dawn is survived by her four devoted daughters; Karen (Frank) Lobello, Karla (Frank) Mah, Kathi (Paul) Gowsell, and Kristi (George) Negrette; sister, Shirley (Hugh) Sutherland; brothers, Jack (Joanne) Mawdsley, Allan (Jo) Mawdsley, and special friend Ian Sutherland; 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dawn was born and raised in Trail, BC, and started her career as an RN after graduating from the Royal Jubilee Hospital. After raising a family in Calgary, Dawn retired to Victoria and will be remembered in a Memorial Service to be held in Victoria BC, at MCCALL BROS FLORAL CHAPEL (Vancouver & Johnson Streets), on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Reception is to follow in MCCALL BROS FAMILY CENTRE. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Condolences made be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.

    I was so sad to hear of your mother’s passing. She was a very warm and wonderful person.
    Her smile always made me feel so good .
    She was one of the women in my life that I admired.
    I always admired her strength and endurence to face lifes
    challenges with grace and dignity.
    I remember our last conversation of painting. She was a great painter!
    I was honored to have known your mother . You can all hold your heads up high for having had such a mother in your lives.
    She will be saddly missed.
