December 27, 1927 – February 18, 2011

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Carol in Glengarry Hospital after a lengthy illness. Predeceased by her parents, Ed and Amy Smith, baby brother, Gary and siblings Eugenia Smith, Eleanor Mann and Don Smith. Survived by sister, Norma Smith, brother-in-law Don Mann, along with nephews Steve (Joan), Ross (Diane) and David (Valerie) Mann; nieces Karen Mann and Marlene (Randy) McClure and many great nieces and nephews and their families. Carol was born on the farm in Horse Creek, Saskatchewan. She worked many years at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital and retired to Victoria in 1993. When health permitted, Carol loved to be with people and join in the activities. Her warm smile was an encouragement to others, even when she herself wasn’t feeling all that well. She was a member of the Church of Christ throughout her life. Our many thanks go to the caregivers from Beacon Community Services and the dedicated staff at Glengarry Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Street with a reception to follow. Condolences for the family may be offered at www.mccallbros.com.
