June 20, 1970 – May 6, 2010

Passed away suddenly in Victoria General Hospital. Carol-Lynn was predeceased by her father Don. She will be dearly missed by her mother Christina and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Carol-Lynn volunteered over the years at Cubbin Daycare and Central Care Home. She was a feisty spirit that had great self determination with all that life gave her. Carol-Lynn was happy to call Nigel House home for the last two months. A special thank-you to Dr. David Clinton-Baker and all the staff at Victoria General Hospital that treated her with kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Nigel House Wellness Fund, 846 Nigel Ave. would be greatly appreciated.

A Memorial Service to be held at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson at Vancouver Street, Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 1:00pm with a reception to follow.

    Chris,
I am so very sorry to hear of Carol Lynne’s passing. The last time I saw her was at VGH in the spring of 2008. I wasn’t aware of her lengthy illness, I know that she brought you joy, and triumph over the years, and this universe has truly lost both a gift and a survivor to the end.
I will always remember her determined spirit, and yearning for both happiness and equality in this world. I saw her need to be both heard and understood.
I only hope you find peace and solace, knowing that both Don and Carol Lynn are taking care of each other, and will both be there for you, when you reach out to them.

Carol Lynn was here at Nigel for two months. What struck me was how readily she opened up to the resident here, and how they opened up to her. Although she had good relationships with the staff at the hospital, I understand she very much wanted to be in the community, living her life. I am glad that that happened for her. She lived with gusto!

I was so honoured to get to know Carol Lynn while she was in the Victoria General Hospital. She had a personality that was sincere and was always true as a friend. My coworkers and I loved passing by her and talking with her especially about the Food Network! Our condolences to you . We appreciate the time we had to say goodbye to her in her last moments.

Chris, I don’t know if you remember me or not, but I sure remember Carol-Lynn and you and Don. I babysat Carol-Lynne when she was just a little thing. You lived on Carnarvon Street in those days, and I was on Carrick. We ran into each other occasionally over the years. I saw Carol-Lynn many, many times doing her rounds at Tillicum Mall. I am so sorry for your loss. She was a very sweet thing as a little girl, and I am sorry I did not get to follow her into her adult years. If you ever want to talk you can call me at the phone number above. Take good care, and know she is with the angels. Love, Lynn.

I remember, with gratitude, Carol-Lynn’s volunteer service at Cubbon Adult Day Centre. She was dedicated to the receptionist’s position at the front desk, and handled her duties with responsibility, and a great sense of humour.
Her spirit of volunteerism will not be forgotten.
