It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our beloved Chantal. She left us on February 7, 2026, at the young age of 57. She was a special person remembered by her love and dedication to those lucky enough to know her. Her special love for her husband Kevin, family, friends and workmates will always be in our hearts. Though we may miss her gentle smile and contagious laugh, our memories of her will continue to warm us in the coming years.
She enjoyed her home, tending to her gardens and spending time with her two dogs, Molly and Mozart. She took care of her family, opening her home on the holidays and filling the air with the smells of her passion for cooking. We will all have the fondest memories of the gatherings and laughter from those times spent together. She was truly a family person taking the reins from her mother Mavis and ensuring we stayed together through the happiest and sometimes hardest times. In the summer Chantal loved relaxing with Kevin at their beautiful property at Spider Lake Springs, taking time to recharge and enjoy their two dogs.
In her work life, Chantal dedicated 14 years as a District Educational Assistant at Arbutus Global Middle School. Teaching those who were lucky to benefit from her care and understanding to make their lives a little better.
Chantal left us far too soon; her life was sadly cut short. She is with her mom and dad now, Walter and Mavis, whom she loved deeply. She leaves behind her loving husband Kevin, siblings Vince, Melinda and Lisa and nieces and nephews who found her a wise and generous auntie. We cannot help but be saddened with you gone but we know you are watching over us, and we will cherish and carry you in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the 8th South Palliative Care Unit at Victoria’s Royal Jubilee Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday April 25, 2026, at 2 p.m. in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC V8Y 1B4.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Suzanne Zerbin Kevin and family.
I worked with Chantal at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in foods services for 16 years. I had the pleasure of seeing her again about 2 years ago when she boarded the BC Transit bus I was driving. She recognized me and we chatted for a few minutes. She was on the bus with her coworkers and students and I could see how much she enjoyed her job.
A life gone too soon, treasure your memories and all the good times you shared.
Hugs for you all

Andrea Segsworth (Pearl’s mom) Chantal was a beautiful person who supported our daughter, Pearl, at Arbutus. She supported our whole family. Corey Mattin My deepest condolences to Kevin, her family, and her many friends.
I met Chantel when we started working at Victor school together in 2008. She was wonderful. Though rewarding, the work environment could be very challenging at times, but I could always count on her for a well-timed joke, or funny observation to help wash away stress, and keep things in perspective. I was privileged enough to maintain that friendship while continuing to work for the district throughout the years, (we worked together again at Arbutus), and also as my friend in the community. She knew how to be the right person, in the right place, and at the right time. She was greatly loved, and will be greatly missed.

Christine and Seth Locke Mrs. Chantal Davenport was an invaluable member of the MSIP SISTERHOOD in Room 106 at Arbutus Global Middle School.
She was a gutsy, fearless, spirited, advocate for both her students and colleagues.
It was not “work” for Chantal but more a mission of heart and passion. Where she was particularly adept at providing proactive sensory input for students with high needs; she willingly embraced the opportunity to assist these challenging students.
Chantal’s resolute dedication, and commitment was ensuring her students had the best possible educational experiences and outcomes. This cannot be underestimated or forgotten.
It is truly a devastating loss…..A “sister-friend” that will always be cherished and treasured for her love, kindness, and generosity. Her absence has left a deep void of sadness.
In Loving Memory
of our
Wonderful Friend
Of all the special gifts in life however great or small,
to have you as our Friend was the greatest gift of all.
May the winds of love blow softly and whisper in your ear
“We love and miss you Friend and wish that you were here”
Deep in our hearts, your life is kept to love and cherish, not forget.
No more tomorrows we can share but yesterdays are always there.
A silent thought, a secret tear keeps your memory ever near in our hearts forever.

Maryanne McKinnon It is with a very sad and heavy heart, that I send condolences to all who loved Chantal . As her co-worker, I admired her ability to work with and make a difference in the lives of the students in her charge and have learned so much from her over the years. She is the reason I got up and showed up for work during those difficult covid years. Even more than this, she became a precious friend and confidant. We have shared laughter and tears and I could always count on her friendship and support. I am so sad she is gone and I want to tell her so. Our future fun and laughter will have to wait until we meet again. Good bye and thank you, my beautiful friend, I will miss you.
