Born October 5, 1950, to Mervin and Wylo Stewart, Dianne passed peacefully while surrounded by her entire family at home on May 18, 2018. She is survived by her husband and true love Brock; ever-grateful children Jesse (Catherine), Dylan (Andrea), and Reid; kindred grandchildren William and Charlotte; dear siblings Doug and Deryl; and loving nephew Sean, and grand-nephew Gabriel.
We were all so lucky to be illuminated by Dianne’s light – an endless well of compassion, courage, and emotional fortitude. In 35 years as an RN, she fiercely protected anybody willing to accept help, often seeking out good in people that they themselves had misplaced. Throughout her life, Dianne has sewn together a tapestry of incredible friends – and while some are farther apart from others on her quilt, the effervescent fabric that was her love will keep them together. As displayed by her glee upon learning it was her 21st birthday from a Serbian border agent while riding her motorcycle, Disie didn’t need much from this world – but that didn’t stop her from giving as much, and as often as she could.
The family offers our sincere thanks and respect to all healthcare workers, regardless of how direct/peripheral their role. As well our endless gratitude to all family friends who have cushioned each bump in the road with solace and grace.
A Service will be held Friday, June 8, 2018, at 2:00 pm in the Sequoia Center at McCall Gardens Royal Oak location, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Sending my condolences at this difficult time. I had the privilege of working with Di in LDR and loved every shift with her. She was kind, active listener, loving and my biggest fan through my achievements and challenges. We paddled together on a few great trips and the memories I will cherish. Sending love at this time.
Dear Dr. Fraser and Family Kevin and I were saddened to hear of Mrs. Fraser’s death a couple of weeks ago. Please accept our sincere condolences. Cherie Oke
Dear Brock and family: I cannot imagine your loss and hope it gives you a little comfort knowing that she will be missed by many. I worked with Dianne for many years and she was delightful and expressive. I picture her knitting her extremely colorful socks while talking about her whole family with respect and warmth! (dogs too) I remember her large expressive brown eyes knowing that a fun comment was about to be said. She was a privilege to know and work with and will be missed. My thoughts are with you. Wendy
Dear Fraser Family,
I am so saddened by Dianne’s passing. She touched all of us. Dianne was the reason I went into nursing. I aspired to be like her and she was my mentor in so many ways. As your babysitter for the kids back in the day she, without knowing, guided me through many points in my life. She was there with me when my daughter was born. She will always hold a special spot in my heart forever!
My love and heart is with you and your family. I will be there at the service.
Bock and Family,
Reg and I were saddened to read of Dianne’s passing. Our thoughts are with you as you grieve the loss of this truly special person, who meant so much to each of you. We hope you find peace and comfort in the memory of her love and support.
Dear Brock and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many fond memories of Dianne going way back to the days of pre-school with the kids. Her kindness, wisdom, and sense of humour made the world a better place. Sending you all love.
