BARNES,Christina Denise born August 11, 1971 passed away April 18, 2010
Born in Port Alberni, Chris was a feisty, strong spirited woman. She was loved for her sense of humour and attitude towards life. She leaves behind her teenage son Kyle and her 4 year old daughter Kate-Lynn Marie, along with all of her beloved friends and family.
Predeceased by her mother Bonnie Johnson in April of 2007, she took it as an opportunity for growth. Starting to resist her agoraphobia and beginning to live life more fully, she was diagnosed with a metastat on her adrenal gland and finally returned to the hospital. After fighting for several weeks she succumbed to her 6 year battle with cancer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House charity of B.C., 4116 Angus Drive, Vancouver, BC V6J 4H9 (604)736-2957 in her name.
Christina’s Celebration of Life will be held at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Saturday May 1, 2010 at 2:00 pm.

    I went to school with Chrissy in Quesnel BC and managed to catch up with her in March while in Victoria caring for my father inlaw who passed away on March 29 from leukemia. My thoughts and prayers are with her Children at this time, may god watch over them and keep them safe.
