Cindy Lee Brar was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world suddenly on July 11, 2022.
Born to Jean and Gerald Fullerton on October 5, 1957 in Trail, BC. After graduating high school, Cindy moved to Victoria to attend university and a short two years later met Dave. Her and Dave married in 1983 and together had two children: Kirsten and Paige.
Cindy was an incredibly loving and caring person. She loved to welcome people into her home for meals and games, cards, mahjong, dice and more. You could always find Cindy speed reading a good book and she was a quiet poet and artist. Cindy loved a good adventure, traveling and exploring with Dave and friends. She was an avid golfer and curler, enjoying playing both but she really loved the community aspect of the games. She was always getting involved in tournaments, all the social events, and serving on the various boards and committees.
Cindy was a fabulous student, completing numerous degrees and certificates. She was passionate about all kinds of education and a lifelong learner. Cindy was always looking at what she could learn next, a new skill was never far outside of her reach. She began working at Royal Roads on the project team to establish the University and later served on the board of governors. After 25 years of working at RRU she retired in 2020 but her love of the university kept her coming back and she continued to work at RRU until this June.
She will be greatly missed by the love of her life for over 45 years, Dave, her two daughters, Kirsten (Basit) and Paige (Jamie), her grandchildren, Jameel, Jasir and Quinn, her sisters, Jeri (Ty) and Gail (Lori), her in-laws (Karen, Tom, Nancy and Pinder), her many nieces and nephews, and her friends who she loved like family. Cindy is predeceased by her parents, Jean and Gerald, sister Debbie and brother Russel.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at Royal Roads University in the Gardens, 2005 Sooke Rd, Victoria, BC.
A scholarship will be set up in Cindy’s name and donations can be made towards the award through Royal Roads, www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/m/73932

Dave, Kirsten, and Paige – thank you for sharing Cindy with me through her many key roles at Royal Roads. She was such a joy! She touched thousands of students’ lives in positive ways over her many years with the university, and hundreds of other university community members, like me, thought of her as their positive, can-do, problem-solving, make-a-difference friend and colleague too. Wishing you and your family solace in happy memories, and though the world is a poorer place without her, her energy lives on in all of those people she touched during her time with us.
My Dear Paige and family. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Cindy will be truly missed. Her love of life, energy and laughter filled the studio and every room that she entered. Such a bright light. Such love for her family that she deeply loved. The stories she shared have left an indelible mark on my heart of a family filled with laughter and love. Sending you heart filled love and strength through this time. May her love and memories wrap around you in a warm embrace. Love and hugs
Dave and family, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. May your cherished memories bring comfort to you.
My sincere condolences and my thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Our sincere condolence to dear Dave, Kirsten, Paige and family.
We have only had the fortune to meet Cindy a few times. She had always warmed our heart with her loving welcome, amused us with her wits and inspired us with her passion for life. We are not surprised how much Cindy is loved by many, and with the scholarship Cindy and her story will be remembered by more.

I was so very shocked & very sad to hear about the loss of Cindy. I went to school with her & she was such a kind, caring person. Sending my sincere condolences to all of you. You are all in my thoughts & prayers.
My deepest sympathy and condolences Dave. Cindy touched so many people with her kindness, joy and good nature and we all share in the loss such a wonderful person. Russell was a good friend of mine through my first few years in Canada (in Trail) and I saw so much of his joy and character in Cindy when I met her many years later in Victoria and we became friends. I know you two shared so many wonderful times – I hope those memories and the family legacy you created together help ease the pain of loss and comfort you going forward. Thinking of you my friend
My heart goes out to all of you, Dave, Kirsten and Paige, and your beautiful families. What a huge loss. Cindy will be missed by so many. She was a beautiful person inside and out – so warm, kind, and generous, and so funny. I will never forget her laughter and zest for life. I wish you strength and peace, and offer my sincere condolences.
Dave, Kirsten, Paige and family,
Just a couple of weeks ago, Cindy invited Jim Bayer and myself for lunch to celebrate my retirement, and we had so much fun reminiscing together about the Dean’s office. Now I am at loss for words for such a sudden great loss. I worked with Cindy over a decade in the Dean’s office and I was always amazed with her wits and wisdom, and how she would always take the time to selflessly help anyone. She had a great sense of humor and we shared so many laughs together. My heart is heavy, and I will miss her dearly. I am sending you love, and my sincere condolences. May you find comfort knowing that she will be remembered and loved by so many.
