September 28, 1921 – July 31, 2010

Born, raised and educated in Vancouver, BC, she married William Lee Hitchcock September 13, 1941, celebrating 65 years together. Clare had a life long interest in the Girl Guide movement, including forming a Ranger troop when ‘her girls’ were too old to remain Guides, filling various roles, and becoming Assistant District Commissioner. She is survived by her children Judith (David), Paul (Daphne), Ruth (Gordon), grandchildren John (Adriane), Michael (Sarah), Carey (Kyle), Eric, Thomas (Danielle), William, Susan, Emma, Ian, and great grandchildren Jessica, Nathan, Noel, Davis, Dylan, Lily and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William (Dec 2006) and sister Daphne Mullins. Many thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Luther Court Day Program and Victoria Hospice.
