Colin Grant

Passed away suddenly on October 29, 2011 at 54 years of age. Colin was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia on December 10, 1956. He was predeceased by his father, Louis Grant and is lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years, Sylvia; daughter, Gizelle; son, Cale; mother, Anne Grant; sisters, Anne-Marie (Joe) Durant, Louise (Arnold) Van Heighten and Janet (Jerome) MacPherson; brothers, Danny (Sharon), Billy (Bernadette) and John (Donna); and many close friends and colleagues.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at McCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and Monday, November 7, 2011 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at ST. ANDREW’S CATHEDRAL, Blanshard at View Streets on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 12:10 pm.

The family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to the crew and command of the HMCS Vancouver, 443 (MH) Squadron and many friends and family who have provided their help and support.

    Just to let you know that I’m shocked and saddened to what has happened to Colin. I’ve been cutting his hair for quite a few years now and he was always a pleasure to talk to. He was always eager to share his hockey stories and was always very proud of his family. I will miss him as he was one of my favorite clients…. My heart goes out to you……

    It was with great sadness that we learned of your tragic loss. Colin was an influential leader who did so much for so many. We are all better for having known Colin. Christina and I will cherish the many great memories of our times in Comox. Our thoughts are with you and your family.
