Emigrated from England in 1927 to Sundre, Alberta. Joined the Regina Rifle Regiment of Canada where, while serving overseas, he met the love of his life Mary (predeceased in 2013) and they were married in 1946 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Cyril and Mary returned to Canada and settled in Sundre, Alberta where they lived before moving to Calgary in 1950. Cyril worked as a civilian for the RCAF (Lincoln Park) Calgary until the station was closed and he transferred to the Canada Post Corporation where he worked until his retirement.

Cyril and Mary decided to move to Victoria to be close to their daughter Christeen (Steve), Grandson Stephen (Carol) and Great Granddaughter Georgia.

Cyril was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Alberta and transferred to Branch 292 in Victoria. Cyril was also an Honorary member of the 78th Fraser Highlanders Victoria Garrison.

His gentle manner and great sense of humour will be greatly missed by his family and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will host a Ceremony of Remembrance at a date and location to be determined.
