Dear Jane, Rob, Molly and Sally—
I offer my condolences in a dark time. I always enjoyed coming to family dinners with your family. You all obviously have a very special bond and I appreciated that closeness from a distance. I always thought Danny had such a special relationship with Molly and Sally and was always making fun, and at the same time, very affectionate and loving. I am so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful person to your family and an obvious loss to his community. Danny always struck me as someone who was going to do (and was already doing) great things to change the world for the better. His loss is tragic.
May he Rest In Peace and live on in your hearts and memories.
All of us at Saanich Water Polo School, players, coaches, parents who had known Danny, now mourn his loss. What a great athlete Danny had become, and what an awesome fun team mate. We are so fortunate that we were able to share practices, road trips, adventures with Danny for over a decade. He had grown up with us; from a little kid to a very special young man who had so much to offer to the world. Rest in peace Danny.
Dear Jane and Family,
My heart goes out to you. Your family has always had a special place in my heart since I first met you when Molly, Sally and then Danny came through our preschool. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Offering our deepest condolences to all of Danny’s family and friends. I was lucky to get to know Danny “behind the scenes” as a costume mom for musical theatre at Reynolds. He always had a quick smile and a cheeky comment to make us all laugh. Three of our kids were in musical with Danny and all of them have really good memories of Danny and what a wonderful guy he was. We are deeply sorry for your loss.
Jane, Molly, Sally and Rob, I was shocked and so very sorry to hear of Danny’s tragic passing. I wish there was something I could say to ease your pain, but I know that’s impossible. It’s been said that there is sacredness in tears. They are messengers of overwhelming grief and of unspeakable love. I’m sure you’re feeling both. My heart goes out to all of you.
Rob, Walter, Millie and all the rest of the Shupbach family, we are truly shocked and deeply saddened at your loss.
Please accept our sincere condolences.

JANE, ROB AND FAMILY, WE ARE SO SORRY THIS TERRIBLE ACCIDENT HAPPENED. A VERY TRAGIC LOSS AND WE FEEL VERY BADLY FOR YOU ALL. WE OFFER OUR CONDOLENCE. HOLD ON AS BEST YOU CAN.
Jane, Rob, Molly and Sally, It is difficult to know what to say to a family that has been devastated by such a tragedy, but our hearts go out to you. Our daughter Rachel had become such great friends with Molly and the rest of your family at a very young age and in these unimaginable times we will always remember Danny as a kind and gentle soul who was loved by all.
Our son Gus was friends with Danny and spoke about his wonderful sense of humour. Our family sends you so much love and comfort in this unbelievably difficult time. Your son was sure loved and admired in the Reynolds community and will be so deeply missed. I saw Danny in Spamalot and he was such a joy to watch. By all accounts, your son made a huge impact on many lives and we are beyond sorry for your family’s loss. May Danny rest in peace and may you find comfort in the love he inspired in so many people.
Kindly,
Connie McConnell and Family
Jane, Rob and Family,
Sending you all our deepest sympathy. Danny was such a beautiful soul and will be dearly missed forever. I was fortunate to have seen Danny this summer and had the most wonderful conversation with him that I will always treasure along with his beautiful smile and memories of how he always made the room fill laughter.
