Sadly, we announce the passing of our beloved David on January 11, 2012 at Victoria Hospice; born December 6, 1931 in Calgary, Alberta. Predeceased by his parents, Victor and Eva; son, Daniel in 1978 and son, Michael in 1996. Survived by Muriel, his loving wife of 55 years; son, Patrick and his wife, Tammy; Papa to Hanna and Spencer, Officer Cadet RMC, Kingston; brother, Frank and his wife, Eileen; sister, Ann and her husband, Graeme; nieces and nephew in Alberta and BC. The joy of his life was his grandchildren, the milestones they met and being part of their lives. David served 21 years in the Royal Canadian Navy; retired and became a correctional officer, Prov. Govt VIRCC and retired again after 14 years. David spent many enjoyable years coaching minor hockey, baseball as well Old Timers hockey and was the coach and originator of the “91” Bears men’s softball team and the Fiddle contest. He was a member of the Chief and PO’S Assoc. and the Legion 91.

The family would like to sincerely express our thanks for the caring and dedication of his doctors; Dr. Tony Jong, Dr. Rene Weir, Dr. E Swiggam and the nurses at the dialysis centers, Royal Jubilee Hospital and West Saanich Rd. A special thanks to the nurses at Victoria Hospice for making David’s last hours so comfortable. At David’s request there will be no service. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
