It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dave Hill in Hospice on August 23, 2012. He fought an amazing, fierce and inspirational 21 month battle against cancer. Dave will be missed by all who knew him especially by his loving wife Jody; daughter, Courtney; and son David. His sister-in-law, Barb; his brother-in-law, John; and niece, Kaitlin (McKenzie, BC). Dave has gone to join his mother, father, mother-in-law, and father-in-law. The family wishes to thank the entire CFB Esquimalt Fire Dept, Padre Jeannine Friesen, Dr J.P. McGhie, Dr. Gail Saiger, all the wonderful nurses at Hospice and the fabulous volunteers, especially Lionel.
Dave’s funeral will be held on Saturday September 1,2012 at 1:00pm, at the Naden Drill Shed, Building N75, Liverpool Street, Esquimalt, BC V9A 6N7. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dave’s memory to the Terry Fox Foundation 2669 Shaughnessy St, Port Coquitlam, BC, V3C 3G7, or online at terryfox.org or to the Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation, 1510 Fort St., Vitoria, BC, V8S 5J2.

Marnie Tower Oh Jody, I am so, so, sorry for your loss. You and your family have been through so much over the last 20yrs. You, Courtney and Dave are in my thoughts and my heart. Love and hugs to all of you.

Vicki and Dale Morgan Jody and Family, My sister let us know, that the Obituary was in the newspaper. We are very sad, but thankful we had a chance to talk to him not to long ago. He was very positive and put up a good fight. It is always hard to lose a love one, but at least he isn’t suffering anymore and has gone to a better place.

Just reading the paper and I am so sorry about the passing of Dave. I did run into the two of you once and awhile at the clinic or costco. I have been through this as you know and my heart goes out to the family. I know that this is a hard time for you and the kids but I’m sure you have a great support team. I was thinking of all the times the four of you stopped to buy ice cream cones from me at the mall. That seems so long ago. Please take care and my thoughts are with you all.
Aunt Jody !!! Oh my…. I recently came across dave’s obit while doing some family research. I remember visiting you and dave ohhhhh back in 86 when me and my grandma were up for john and barbs wedding, its been a very long time you might remember me. I have a very fond memory of dave and you driving around at night time showing me a building all lit up and him telling me that he got them to light it up especially for me LOL. My heart goes out to you and your family, I know what the loss is like. Time heals all the memories never fade. Much love to you all.
