On behalf of Phoenix Human Services, please accept our sincerest condolences on the loss of your family member. We had the pleasure of supporting David for the past 17 or so years and in so doing, he became part of our extended family. Several of our staff members had the pleasure of spending time with him over those many years and came to admire him for his amazing resilience as well as his determination to live life on his own terms no matter how desperate his situation became. David could be a man of few words but he was passionate about those things that he was particularly fond of like music or fast cars and in those instances he had plenty to say. What I will remember most about David is that fetching and unexpected smile that catches you unaware and leaves you with the knowledge that joy can be found in the most unlikely of places and circumstances. David helped to remind us all that there is always hope, especially when you least expect it. Thanks for that lesson, David!! Peace be with you wherever you may land.
