Hanna and Allan Bauer Our dearest Dave was a kind soul and was a great friend. I will miss our two hour long talks about life. I found we were kindred spirits. Allan and I have very fond memories of Dave and especially Allan because he knew him since he was 16 years old. Dave was a good friend to those who knew him and I felt his belief in God was a beautiful thing. God speed Dave

Lawrence Cofield Dave was one of my best friends and I am extremely saddened by his passing.
We kept in touch all our life and I just communicated with him in August.
Due to reasons out of my control I am unable to attend the service in person, but I have prepared a note with some fond memories that another mutual friend will read aloud on my behalf.
My heart goes out to the whole Baanstra family. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Jim Mayville ( sonnyjim) Dave had a big heart and would help anyone in need. I spent almost two years living with Dave and there was never a dull moment. He could always make me laugh and was willing to to help anytime I asked. So many fond memories to mention them all but, our New Year’s parties were epic. Will miss you for ever buddy save me a seat at the never ending concert.

David was my right arm for advocating for our community for over a decade. He served on the Carey Area Community Association as a Director at Large and later on the executive as Treasurer. Without Dave I could not have kept the association going.
Dave also coordinated the Hyacinth Park Music In the Park for as long as its been happening.
I will continue to miss Dave’s friendship, support and volunteer extraordinaire community voice for a very long time.
