Deacon Lawrence passed away peacefully at the Heights at Mount View on July 21, 2018.

Youngest son of Thomas and Margaret Oneson who were pioneer residents on Lilac Avenue in Dorval, Quebec. Predeceased by brothers Anthony, Thomas, Paul RCAF) Martin (RCAF) sisters, Frances Oneson and Gertrude Onyett and by his son Jeffrey.

He attended Loyola High and College and was employed in Pharmaceutical Marketing Research in Montreal and Toronto. He had a keen interest in computer technology and was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiennes and Alouettes.

Ordained as a Deacon, Archdiocese of Toronto in 1978, he was involved in Parish Ministries. Retiring to Victoria, BC in 1990, he was employed in Security.

He persevered through challenging Health issues. Our gratitude to the skilled staff at Mount View who helped to make his struggle bearable.

Remembered by his loyal wife Helen, daughter Mary (Howard), granddaughter Jessica (Aaron), great-grandson Jakob, as well as many nieces and nephews in Calgary, Ottawa and Montreal.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 2060 Haultain Street on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 12.10 pm. Celebrated by Fr. Bernard Lee, reception to follow.

Interment in the Family plot at The Presentation Church in Dorval, Quebec at a later date.
