Dianne was born in Toronto to Margaret and Douglas Brown. She worked at Humber College for 27 years delivering mail, and with her friendly open nature she became a beloved figure around campus. After retiring she moved with her mother to Victoria and found her home in the Community Living Victoria (CLV) Supported Apartment Living (SAL) program.
Dianne happily and enthusiastically embraced all the activities and opportunities the SAL program had to offer. She served on the CLV board for 6 years and welcomed any occasion to advocate for SAL. For several years she thoroughly enjoyed her work volunteering in the kitchen at Saanich Silver Threads. She dearly loved her apartment, her friends and program staff, and was in turn loved for her warmth, kindness, wit and sense of humour. Dianne had a big heart and faced her life’s challenges with bravery, determination and a positive attitude.
Left to mourn her passing are her sisters Cheryl and Marilyn, brother-in-law Paul, nephews Adam and Jon, grandnieces Djuna, Simone and Izzy, grandnephew Julian, and cousin Jannice.
A celebration of Dianne’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Community Living Victoria, 3861 Cedar Hill Cross Road. If you wish, donations can be made to Community Living Victoria.

Rob Taggart I was deeply saddened to hear of Dianne Brown’s passing. I had the privilege of knowing Dianne through her involvement with Community Living Victoria (CLV), where she served on the Society Board and actively supported the Foundation Board’s fundraising activities. Dianne was a passionate advocate for her peers and a steadfast supporter of the events and functions hosted by CLV. Her warm smile and unwavering dedication will be greatly missed.
