It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Donald Fouracre on December 19th after a brief illness. He was loved and adored and will be greatly missed by his wife Linnea, of more than 53 years, his daughters Karen, Susan (Stephen), Catherine (Anatolijus), his 4 grandchildren Rhys, Sam, Grace and Tessa. His siblings Bett (Harry), Lois (Ken), Brian (Denise), sister- in-law Glenda Miller, brother-in-law Jim Miller (Kate), many cousins and a multitude of friends.
Don was born in Victoria Sept 24, 1937 to Jack and Madge Fouracre. He graduated from Oak Bay High school and went on to have a long and successful career at London Life Insurance Company. He was involved in Cadboro Bay United church and served on the board of Gorge View Housing Society. He loved beach combing, collecting wood, growing and sharing garden produce, his daily walks and most importantly time with family. We were so fortunate to have many family holidays in Mexico and Hawaii. The summer centered around holiday times at Cowichan and Shuswap Lake where many cherished family memories were made. His children and grandchildren were the joy of his life, his love for them unbounded. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, hearty laugh, big heart and generosity.
A memorial service will be held Monday December 23rd at 1:00pm at First Metropolitan Church at 932 Balmoral Rd. Reception to follow in the Hall. If desired, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Don’s name to the Cardiac Care Unit at Jubilee Hospital. Our sincere thanks to all the staff at the CCU who provided such wonderful support. I was very sorry to hear about Don’s passing. I always found Don to be friendly, good humoured and very informative especially while attending Share Club meetings at the Gorge Vale Golf Club.

Dear Linnea, Karen, Susan and Catherine (and your families). I was deeply saddened when I learned of Don’s death. Why only a few days ago we spoke at the Youth Concert at CBUC. How quickly life moves on, and our health is always tenuous. I will miss bumping into him and discussing important matters. He was a remarkable man.
He is at peace, and I hope you too will locate peace and comfort in the days ahead. Hopefully I will see you at 1st UC Monday for his memorial and celebration of life.
We are saddened to read of Don’s passing. As a long time friend of Brian’s and former student of Jack Foreacre I have known Don for many years.. Don was my insurance agent all through my working years . He will always be remembered for his cheerful personality. Talking with him always made things seem brighter and left us with a smile. He will be missed by all those he touched. Sincerely, Gary & Gloria Politano
Our sincere condolences.
Dear Linnea, Karen, Susan, Cath and Families: We are thinking of you at this sad time and we hope that the warmth and support of your family and many friends will comfort you. Dear Linnea and family, We were so saddened to hear about Don. As you know Bob knew him since school and me since I came here 40 years ago. He was always such a happy fellow with a laugh and a chuckle every time we met him. We saw him not too long ago at Peppers and he was the same as always.
Our thoughts and best wishes are with you at this time. I hear you have your family with you and that will be a wonderful source of comfort.
Sincerely, Bob and Sheila
