  1. My sincere condolances to the Broughton family for their loss.
Don and I were the same age, I first met Don as a child at sunday school and liked him instantly, he was funny, and had a quick wit, our lives interconnected over the years, Memorial arena hockey, Macdonalds, Sinclairs, and Summer Sunday night hockey. That was where I admired him the most as the first one on the ice and last one off, the one who moved the nets for the zamboni, picked up the pucks after warm up, and one who always backed off on a play so as not to hurt anyone. He was a very good player, but more importantly a pleasure to be around, and he was held in high regard by his team mates and those of us that got to work with him in the HVAC industry. Rest in Peace friend.

  10. I first met Don in 1977 when I began working at McDonald’s Restaurants as a teenager. Over the next 10 years, I got to know Don (a.k.a. Vern) as a good friend. His sense of humour and quick wit kept many of us laughing. Even though we have lost contact over the years, I remember many great times with him at McDonald’s and staff events. Rest peacefully, my friend.
