Donna passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Victoria Hospice on August 14, 2011. She went to be with her Lord at the age of 77 years. Survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Bill Finlay; 5 children, Tim (Denise), Diane, Debbie, Tony (Karyn) and Sharon (Mike). Lovingly remembered by her 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and her brothers and sister and many nieces and nephews. Donna was a devoted daughter; sister; wife; mother and grandmother. She loved her family and we all have many happy memories of times spent at birthdays, Christmases, shopping and travels with Mom and Dad. Donna’s hobbies included golf, curling, reading and most recently gambling with Bill at the View Royal Casino. Mom and Dad recently moved to a 55+ condo where they were welcomed into a new community of friends and social activities. Thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the Cancer Clinic involved in Donna’s care and special thanks to Dr Forster and staff and the nurses at Hospice for their kindness to the family.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 4040 Nelthorpe St, at 12:00 (noon) on Friday August 19, 2011 with Father Al officiating. The reception celebrating Donna’s life will take place immediately following the Mass in the downstairs reception area at the Church. ln lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Victoria Hospice or a charity of your choice. Dear Bill, Sharon, Tim, and Tony
I am so sorry to hear of Donna’s passing. She was a wonderful woman. I have many fond memories of Sunday dinners and playing cards around your dining room table. She was a soft shoulder to land on and a surrogate mother to some of us in the neighborhood. I was blessed to have known her and truly loved her. May she rest in peace.
