When I look at Doreen’s photograph (above), I feel that I am looking
at an angel. Even though Doreen’s profession brought her into contact with many problems, she had so much patience and love.
And there was always that wonderful smile and a willingness to guide and help. Harold, you had the privilege of knowing and loving a wonderful person. And, of course, Doreen had ghe privilege of knowing and loving you.
    John.

Love and blessings to the family of my special friend, Doreen. I met Doreen in 1959 and we were friends “forever”. We had many wonderful memories.

  • Paul & Alice Ammann

To all of my family in Canada and the US:
When we got the news about Doreen, Alice and I were devastated. Though I have many memories of my Grandmother, Alice only met her a few times, yet in those times she was welcomed and shown such love by Doreen that it left a great impression. We have been separated from a wonderful, fun-loving, caring woman of God. I wish my children had the chance to know her in this life. As much as we all miss her, we know that she is now in the loving arms of the Lord.

Doreen came into my life just over 30 years ago. During those years, she was not only a friend and an adviser, she was a light, and an inspiration to me. Doreen was also known, respected and loved by my own parents in England. And I know that if they were still alive, they would be crying tears of loss. Doreen always had a smile for everyone. I already miss her. Goodbye my friend.

My grandmother was a very special person and I am honored to carry her name. It is with sadness that my wedding 17 years ago was the last time I saw her. I do know that she is in a better place with the company of other family members, including my own late father.

Our sincere sympathies are extended to Harold on this sad occasion.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.

Doreen was a Woman of Worth. She was a woman who loved her Lord and shared that love with people she contacted whether within the church, her clubs or her home.
She will be missed among her friends of The Salvation Army and of course her Harold and her family and grandchildren.

Doreen always had a word of encouragement to give no matter how she was really feeling and we can remember that from days gone by.

Bless you Doreen as you have entered the Pearly Gates of Heaven. May you find peace, rest and happiness in your new Home.

Our sincerest sympathies go to Harold, Brian, Barb, Bram, and all families attached to this precious soul of Jesus Christ.

Doreen is a very very special friend – she made us feel joyful just knowing her. Her love of life and her joie de vivre encompassed us like a multi-coloured marshmallow – full of warm delights and lots of giggles.

She was Grandma Do to my children. She was a dear friend to me.

Friendship transcends time and there were many times throughout the years when Do and I had incredibly wonderful times together and other times our friendship lay dormant until our next get together- only to be reignited as if no time had passed between us.

Doreen gave me so much comfort when i most needed it – I only wish i had been there to give her the same comfort when she needed it – the love of her family was the most important part of her life and this she received in great abundance and she gave of a love that was so unconditional and so wonderful.

Memories of Doreen are now what will sustain us and bring us to laughter and to tears. May the Lord continue to comfort you knowing that Doreen is safe in His arms and probably giving Him the Army finger as she entered those wonderful pearly gates…

    love Mae
