Passed away peacefully with her family at her side in Victoria on September 17, 2011. She was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on February 15, 1928. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bob) in 1988 and her daughter-in-law Nancy in 2010. She is survived by her son, Hutch and grandsons Garrick and Jason; her dear sister Ann Baines, with whom she shared a very close bond; nephews, David Burgoyne (Pat), Murray Baines, Brian Baines (Brandy); niece, Susan Baines (Eric), great-nephews, Sam, Robbie and Cooper; great-nieces, Jaclyn, Pamela, Alyssa and Hilary and many more extended family and friends.
Dorothy worked for BC Hydro for over 40 years. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Queen City Chapter #5, OES and a member of the Daughters of the Nile. Many thanks to all of Dorothy’s friends and neighbours and the staff at the Apple Tree Restaurant for all of their kind care and support over the years.
A Memorial Service will be held at Gordon Head United Church, 4201 Tyndall Avenue in Victoria on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 2:00 pm with refreshments to follow. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.
