Passed away March 25, 2018 at the age of 89, surrounded by her remaining children, Robert and life partner (Peter) and son Donald. Predeceased by her husband Fredrick George (’92) and son Douglas Gordon (’97).
Dorothy was born in Vancouver BC, then her family moved to Cumberland, where she stayed until age 13. Mom then went back to Vancouver where she worked at the Hotel Vancouver until she was 18. Mom then moved to Victoria where she met dad and was married at age 20, in April 1948. Mom worked as a waitress for 50 years at the Empress, Princess Mary, and the James Bay Tea Room, then came out of retirement to waitress in her son Don’s restaurant in Nanaimo.
Our mom always had a smile and she loved life. Mom is, and always will be missed. Goodbye DIR, I miss and love you forever!
A Memorial Reception to Honour Dorothy’s Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations In Memory of Dorothy may be made to a charity of your own choice.

Don Campbell We were saddened to learn of Dorothy’s passing. She will always be remembered as someone who was very accepting of all people. Dorthy was loved by all of us who were associated with her at the Princess Mary. Short bread cookies at Christmas time were the best ever. Still haven’t found any to match, even in Scotland. A wonderful woman has left a very positive imprint on this planet. Condolences to all who are grieving her passing.

Goodbye to an old friend. We have so many happy memories of picnics, camping, family dinners and friendship.
Sadly we will not be able to join family and friends on April 4 due to a previous commitment in Vancouver.
