On August 2, 2026, surrounded by his family, Anthony James Nadolski died at the age of 79 after a battle with cancer. He was, to the very end, exactly who he had always been: stubborn, funny, and concerned for the welfare of his patients.
Born in London, England, to Joyce and Ziggy Nadolski, Anthony grew up in Scarborough, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry in 1975 and moved to Victoria that same year. For the next five decades it was his home, his practice, and his community, and he loved all three.
He practiced dentistry in Victoria for over fifty years and was still seeing patients a month before he died. That single fact says most of what needs to be said about him. He knew his patients’ families, their histories, and their worries, and many of them stayed with him for thirty and forty years because he had earned that kind of loyalty.
He gave his profession the same devotion. He joined the Victoria District Dental Society when he arrived in the city, later serving as an executive member and President, and spent four years as a council member and President of the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia. From 1975 onward he was a member of the dental staff at both Victoria General and Royal Jubilee Hospitals, cared for patients at Glengarry Hospital for some fifteen years, and looked after several group homes across the city. He served roughly a decade as Section Head and later Division Head of Dentistry for the Vancouver Island Health Authority, and he was a vocal advocate and negotiator for the BC Dental Association with the Ministry of Health.
Some of the many recognitions he received include the BC Dental Association’s Humanitarian Award in 2004 for his care of disabled and underprivileged patients, a Certificate of Appreciation in 2006 for Community Dental Day, and the Association’s Service Award in 2007 for ten years of volunteer work on their negotiating committee. Away from dentistry, he was a member of the Camosun Gyro Club and served two terms as a governor of the Victoria Conservatory of Music.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nushin Nadolski; his children Dana Hosseini, Christina Nadolski, and Anna Nadolski, and their partners Stacie, Michael, and Luke; his grandchildren Ella and Mia Young, Emma and Keira Larison, and Arthur and Benjamin Nadolski; and his siblings Adam, Mary, and Chris Nadolski. He is missed dearly by his family, the many friends he made laugh, and the many patients whose lives he touched over fifty years of service.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to the Hospice and Palliative Care unit at Royal Jubilee Hospital for their kindness and care. A celebration of Anthony’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Agency would be appreciated.

A great sadness overcame me when I read the obituary for Tony Nadolski, my dentist and friend for over 30 years. We are always blessed when someone like Tony shares his friendship, kindness, care and concern with us and others he cared about. An exceptional man. My deepest condolences to Nushin, his family
and his friends. I will miss him.
I am so sorry to read of Dr. Nadolski passing, he was an incredible dentist but also a wonderful man. We often discussed grandchildren while he worked on my teeth, his kindness was unmeasurable. What a sad loss!
Tony was a kind and lovely gentleman. He will be missed by everyone he touched but sadly by his lovely wife Nushin and his whole family. All our family send our condolences he deserves to rest in peace, he did so much for our community.
My family would like to express our deepest condolences to Tony’s family. My husband and I were patients who started seeing Tony 45 yrs ago . Our son saw him while growing up as did our grandchildren. He was always very professional and friendly and it was a pleasure seeing him. We knew his family through all the lovely stories over the years that he would share especially when it came to his beloved grandchildren. He’ll be deeply missed.

Our hearts are broken to hear of Tony’s passing.
Tony and Nushin have always been so much more than friends—they are family to us. We shared so many beautiful memories together as our children grew up side by side, and that bond only became stronger as the years passed. Tony always welcomed us with warmth, kindness, and generosity, making everyone feel like family.
It is hard to believe that someone with so much love, laughter, and goodness to give is no longer with us. While his presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched and in the memories we will cherish forever.
Our deepest condolences to you, Nushin, and to your entire family. We are holding you close in our hearts and praying that you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and in the wonderful legacy Tony leaves behind.

I read with sadness this morning of Tony’s passing. He was a kind, generous and gentle man. He made all of better for knowing him, and that memory will serve to ease the sadness at his passing. My thoughts are with Nushin and his family. You will be proud of him and the life that he lived – please know that we share a part of the loss of Tony and offer our condolences to you.
A piece of my heart flew away today when I heard of my dear friend’s passing. Tony was such an endearing human being. It was always a joy to be in his company. I spent many happy times with Tony and Nushin in their home and was always made to feel like one of the family. Never any judgment or awkwardness, just lots of love and laughter. So many happy memories for me. My heart goes out to my lovely Nushin and all of Tony’s family. I believe that Helen Keller says it best…”What we once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us “.
All my love and heartfelt condolences to the family. Faye
