It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. David Scott, beloved son, brother, and uncle, on September 14, 2025, in Victoria, British Columbia. He was 54 years old.

David was born in Hinton, Alberta, to parents Sharon and Herb Scott, and grew up alongside his sisters, Allana and Laurel Scott. After completing his studies at the University of Alberta, David dedicated his career to dentistry, establishing a successful practice in Sidney, B.C., where he cared for patients and built lasting relationships over the past 30 years.

Beyond his professional life, David was a devoted family member who took great pride in his role as an uncle. He leaves behind his cherished nieces, Aryn Scott-Stretch and Jordyn Brandle, and his nephew, Logan Scott, who will always remember his warmth, sense of humor, and support.

David was a highly accomplished musician, being able to play any genre of music on his guitar.  His most cherished possession was his collection of guitars.  David was also a talented athlete, playing hockey and football at Notre Dame College.  He was passionate about weightlifting and fitness throughout his life.

David will be remembered for his generosity, infectious laugh, commitment to his family and the impact he made on the lives of so many—both in his family and in his community.

A private family gathering will be held in his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in David’s honor.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

This morning, when I went for my dental appointment, I learned that Dr. Scott had passed away. I was in complete shock. He had been my dentist for over twenty-five years—an exceptional professional and a truly kind person. My heartfelt condolences to Dr. Scott’s family and friends.
Two moments especially stand out to me. The first was when his office was closed during his move from Beacon Avenue to 5th Street. I was in severe pain, and despite everything going on, he told me to come in. Even with the office in transition, he took the time to treat me and relieve my pain.
The second was on New Year’s Eve in 2025. I was again in terrible discomfort and called the office. Although Dr. Scott was away on holidays, the staff reached him, and he arranged for a antibiotic prescription. Not only that, he personally called my husband to make sure I was okay. When he returned, I saw him right away—he ultimately had to pull the tooth—and, as always, he was kind, gentle, and reassuring.
I am 72 years old, and throughout all these years, Dr. Scott was consistently professional, compassionate, and upbeat. He was an incredible dentist.
Thank you, Dr. Scott, for taking such good care of me and for making this world a better place. I will miss you. May you Rest in peace.

What a devastating loss. A great dentist and I’ll never forget his positive and relaxed demeanour while working on my teeth. In my elder years he complimented me on the health of my teeth! He was an asset to dentistry. I didn’t know him personally and hope he knew his patients (both my husband and I) really liked him and share in the sorrow of his passing. Shocking.
Condolences to all his family & friends. RIP Dr Scott.

He was a character to be remembered for sure! He never scolded me about the condition of my teeth and was the most pain free dentist I ever had. I know he rated that high on his list for patient comfort . I did not know his background so reading about him in his obituary made me smile to read of all his other life accomplishments. Your family connection seems very deep so please accept my sincere condolences and prayers for peace in his passing. We will miss him in Sidney.
