January 11, 1930 – April 23, 2014
It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of our precious father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Predeceased by the “love of his life”, wife, Norah in January 2007. Survived by son, Michael Hardy (Penny), daughter, Joanne Clarke; grandchildren, Chelsea (Mike), Norah (Dallas), Evan, Eamonn (Leah) and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Jared, Maya, Charlotte, and Cohen, as well as many nephews, nieces and friends.
Retiring after over 30 years in 1987 from the Victoria City Police Department as Inspector, Ed enjoyed many years boating with Norah through Capital City Yacht Club, where he served a term as Commadore and several other positions. Ed will be remembered fondly by all that knew him, for his devotion and humor. The family would like to thank Dr. Dan Buie and all the wonderful staff at Sunset Lodge for their compassionate care.
Celebration of life will be held at McCall’s Downtown, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 26, 2014 with a reception to follow in the McCall’s Family Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation, 2410 Lee Ave., Victoria, BC V8R 6V5.
“WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW MUCH YOU WILL BE MISSED, DAD, BUT WE HAVE COMFORT KNOWING YOU ARE NOW AT PEACE IN MOM’S ARMS.”
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
