Eileen passed peacefully into her heavenly home after a long hard battle, and is now joyously reunited with husband, Leslie (1919 – 1994) and many other family members.  She is mourned by daughter, Karen White (Glen, deceased); sons, Philip and Paul (Corinna); grandchildren, Ariel Bowers (Craig), Heather Wiebe (Barry), Julie Lockhart (James) and Rena Wisdom (Craig), grandson, Jason (Casey) and eight great-grandchildren.

Mom taught school for many years ending her career at Esquimalt Junior High.  She was an avid reader and well informed on a vast variety of subjects.  She loved above all, the study of Scripture, even owning and using a Greek translation to enrich her understanding.  The NKJV translation of Psalm 116:15 reads:  “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.”  Mom – you will be missed but we rejoice with you in your release from tears and pain.

The family expresses thanks to the staff of Sunset Lodge for their caregiving over these past difficult months.

Graveside Service will be held at Hatley Memorial Gardens at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 21, 2016.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen’s memory may be made to Camp Imadene, Box 374, Mesachie Lake, BC V0R 2N0.

I would visit your Mother whenever I happened to be at Sunset Lodge visiting. She was a kindhearted lady and loved her Lord and Saviour dearly. Now that she is with Jesus enjoying all his love and dancing with the angels in no pain or suffering we will REJOICE!!

    Dear Karen, Phil and Paul,
Even though it is hard to say ‘good-bye’ we know you are rejoicing that the struggle is finished for your Mom. I have an image of her having such a grand reunion with your Dad, her sisters and her parents, as well as Glen and your little boy, Karen, just to name a few. “When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, we’ll sing and shout the victory!”
We are thinking of you and praying for you at this time. We are so blessed to have the hope of heaven and life through Jesus and pray that you are experiencing God’s peace.
    Lots of love,
    Gay and Dave Corbett
