December 27, 1928 to April 6, 2012

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, omi, sister and friend. Elizabeth came to Canada in 1953 to marry her sweetheart. She is survived by her husband Johann, son Fred, daughter Loretta and grandchildren Nicole and John. Elizabeth was a business owner for a number of years. She enjoyed gardening, movies, baking and cooking, but most of all she loved to spend time with her family and friends. Elizabeth had a wonderful zest for life. She was well loved for her kindness, generosity and vibrant outgoing nature. She loved to interact with everyone she met and almost immediately made a new friend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 753 Burnside Road West, on Friday April 13 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park.  In lieu of flowers, donations if so desired may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 276 – 2950 Douglas Street, Victoria B.C., V8T 4N4. Condolences may be offered below.

Dear Hans, Loretta, Fred and Family

I was so saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. I will always remember what an amazing friend she was to my Oma. I have fond memories of her behind the counter at Art’s bakery and the treats she would sneak us when Mom wasn’t looking. I feel blessed to have known her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Keep your memories of her close to your heart and she will never truly be gone.
