It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Beth peacefully in her sleep on January 24th. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Ray in 2004, infant son Keith in 1960, 4 Brothers and 3 Sisters. Left to mourn are sons Ray (Linda), Ralph (Carol), grandchildren Kim (Brent) McDonald, Teri-Lynn (Sean) Morris, Carolyn (Ian) Darling, Andrew (Laura) Pengelly and Nicole Pengelly. Mom is also survived by great-grandchildren Brady, Bryce, Brennan, brother Alec Stewart, sister Margaret (Dan) Cordoni, sister-in-law Margaret Stewart and brother-in-laws Gordon Winter and Trevor Jones plus many other nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was born in a little house in Victoria West and during her life worked for the Naden Wardroom during WWII, Ormond’s Biscuits, Victoria Bed and Mattress and Rogers Chocolates. Mom and Dad loved to travel and spent many vacations in Reno, England, Scotland and Hawaii along with other family members and friends.
A private family burial service will be held at Royal Oak Burial Park on Tuesday February 1st, 2011 where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband. Immediately following will be a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM at McCall Brothers Floral Chapel, corner of Johnson and Vancouver Streets with a reception to follow in their Family Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice or to The Broadmead Lodge Society. The family also wishes to thank the staff of Broadmead Lodge for all their help and support in looking after Mom for the last number of years.
