Ellen (Louise) daughter of Stanley and Eva Malone, was born in Victoria, B.C. at St. Joseph’s Hospital on December 21, 1925. She passed away peacefully at 91 years of age on July 2, 2017 at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital.
Louise was a sister, aunt, wife, homemaker and loving mother to three beautiful children. She lived a full life and had a happy marriage of 61 years to Fredrick George Leeke.
With a love for music and the arts, she spent many evenings enjoying the theatre and symphony with her friends and family. Louise had a creative artistic side that shone through in her many paintings and beautiful gardens. She spent everyday filling their home with beauty, warmth and laughter, always welcoming neighbouring children and their families over to visit.
Louise was very active as a member and past president of the Society of Artists, member and then president of her children’s elementary school’s PTA, as well as member and past president of the Canadian Fire Chief’s Ladies Auxiliary.
With all that she had on the go, Louise always found time to care for relatives and seniors in the care home she visited, regardless of whether she knew them or not. Louise always wore a smile and would strike up a conversation. She would sit by people’s bedsides, holding their hands, warming their room and hearts.
Predeceased by her loving husband Fredrick Leeke; mother and father Stanley and Eva Malone; brothers Devenay and Terrance Malone. Survived by daughters Patricia Thomas, Colleen Leeke; son Wayne Leeke (Gail Leeke); grandchildren Melinda Peterson (Joshua Peterson), Sean Thomas and Kiana Leeke; great grandchildren Jenna Peterson, Kylie Peterson and Isaiah Thomas.
The family will gather in memory of Louise with friends and family at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, B.C.

Debbie Kelly Condolences to the family. I met Louise through my dad (James ‘Dusty’ Rohrer), who met her husband Fred when they were both in the Army.
Kathy, Colleen, And Wayne, Very sorry for your loss. Your mom was always a warm and caring lady. I went to school with Wayne, and years later I met Kathy, Melinda, and Sean as we became neighbours. Kathy had the home where all the kids were welcome to come. Shortly after moving in I met up with your mom again as she was leaving Kathy’s. Soon after while talking to Kathy, I asked her how she knew Mrs. Leeke. To my surprise. Kathy says that’s my mom. As neighbours I met up with dad again and Kathy and I became friends. Kathy, Melinda and Shawn even looked after my children. Our prayers are with you at this time. Linda, Leanne, Warren and Michelle Griffin and Families.
