January 22, 1997 – March 6, 2011
Our Precious Emily passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She leaves her parents, Ross and Jennifer; siblings, Jack and Hannah, as well as Roger and Ann Mundell and brother, Sky, who loved and supported Emily and all of us over Emily’s 14 years. Emily will also be missed by a large extended group of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, teachers, caregivers, doctors and nurses. A special thank you to Dr. Barclay and all the nurses at PICU for your love and understanding over the last difficult days.
Emily could light up a room with her unforgettable smile, we miss you so much we ache loly-cakes, but you are now free. xox
A Celebration of “EMILY” will be held in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Donations can be made in Emily’s name to Mimi’s House, 1631 Earlston Avenue, Saanich, BC V8P 2Z6. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.

Gord Robbins Dear Ross & Family,
It is with deep and sincere sadness that I learned of your dear Emily’s passing. The past few days have found me reflecting on simpler times in life, when coming off the rugby pitch with all bones intact, holding court around the pool table on Thursday nights and thinking of little beyond the moment were chief among our priorities.
I know all too well the difficulties you must have endured over the years, but never can these outweigh the immense joys and fond memories you have reaped through your dedication and simple love of your daughter.
Although I did not know Emily personally, it is very evident the profound and positive impact she had on those who did. I look at her picture each time I visit my son at Mimi’s House, and I will continue to acknowledge the big, bright-eyed smile that represents such an indomitable spirit.
