Born on March 3, 1941, in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025.

Predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 2008 and son, Derek in 2016; Emma is survived by her son Tony (Karen) and grandchildren, Jayden, Tristen, Avry, Alanna, Ainsley, Ashley and Tanner. Emma was born to Lydia and Alfred Maier and had one sibling Roland (Diana). She will be missed by many other relatives and friends.

After moving to Canada from the Ukraine at an early age, Emma attended school in Victoria, graduating from Victoria High School in 1960. After graduation, Emma worked for the Bank of Montreal becoming one of their first female managers. Then met her love Joseph, marrying in 1964. Emma and Joseph, together, created a beautiful family and ran three successful businesses: an insulation, asbestos removal and organic farm. Emma was very hard-working, loving, caring and supportive. Over the years, Emma was always there for whomever needed anything and just appreciated a nice visit. After retirement, Emma enjoyed being at home and spending time with all her precious grandchildren and family.

A graveside service will be held at the Royal Oak Burial Park on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 1:00pm, immediately followed by a Celebration of Emma’s life at Karen and Tony’s home, 629 Granrose Terrace, Victoria, BC V9C 3T1.
