Miss Me, But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me

I want no rites in a gloom-filled room

Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little-but not too long

And not with your head bowed low

Remember the love that we once shared

Miss me-but let me go.

  • Tony and Suzanne

Both Suzanne and I, plus Bobby and Paul, were very sad to hear the news. We have so many happy memories of visits to Canada and especially the time in the early 1970s when I lived with the family in Toronto.

Personally, apart from Ena’s kindness and constant good sense, I will never forget the time she was water sking on Tea Lake in Ontario on her 80th birthday! Had she not tried to go to one ski she would never have fallen off! What memories…

Now she is back again with Brian my father, bless them both.

Love, Tony, Suzanne, Bobby and Paul

  • GAYLE KIRK

I read of your mother’s passing in the Toronto Star and wanted to send a little message. Dr. Beecroft and I (his office nurse) enjoyed both Brian and Ena, looking after their health needs for many years in Barrie. We send condolences to all of you. I also had the opportunity to visit with Ena in Victoria, while visiting our daughter at UVic, enjoying a chat over tea, at her residence. Best wishes to you.

  • Mavis Goodman

My condolences to Jayne and other members of Ena’s family. I met Ena through Victoria Newcomers and was lucky enough to get a ride to various events with Ena over the years.

I always feel that when you lose your mother, it is the end of an era!

    My sincere sympathy.

  • Susan and Ted

    Dear Jane, Tim and Susan,
Ena was a wonderful lady who inspired me with her enthusiasm for life. Ted and I enjoyed my many lunches and visits with her here in Victoria and in Barrie. We had a contest to see who could find the spiciest Indian food restaurant in Victoria.

We will miss her and Victoria will not be the same.
We are thinking of you and hope all the wonderful memories with your Mum keep you going during this difficult time.

    Susan and Ted
