Died peacefully at Sidney All Care, Sidney, B.C., at the age of 99.
Erica was born in Munich, Germany and grew up in the province of Silesia.
Erica was an elegant and accomplished lady. She earned degrees in Languages, International Finance and Economics at the Universities of Heidelberg and Leipzig, and was fluent in five languages (German, English, Italian, Spanish and French.)
Her linguistic skills placed Erica in high demand, making her eminently suitable for her work with the U.S. Government as interpreter and translator of scientific documents during the American occupation of Germany.
At the end of the War, Erica immigrated to the United States, eventually procuring a position as Economist in the Engineering Department of the World Bank in Washington, D.C., where she worked closely with engineers and scientists from various nations.
Upon her retirement in 1987 Erica and her life partner, Aileen, moved to Canada where they settled in Victoria.
Erica will be sadly missed by all who have known her and who have been enriched by her friendship.
Aileen and friends would like to express sincere thanks to the nursing staff at Sidney All Care Residence for their constant care of Erica over the last few years of her life.
A simple memorial service to be attended by close friends will take place at McCall Gardens Redwood Chapel, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 1:30 pm.

Ii dont know how to say in my simple English, send you condolence message. Erica was best girlfriend from my mother Kate and her two sisters Lotte and Martha all life, they grow up together in small town Schweitnitz in Silesia, now Poland. My mother died 8 years ago, but Erica was here until age 99. We are Christian and believe , that Erica is now together with her friends and other Family members in Heaven.
