    Dear Monty ,

It was with great sadness that I read about Fiona in the times Colonist. I saw her just a few weeks ago at the Jubilee on her way to x-ray.

I met Fiona through Newcomers and we shared our experiences about hip replacements. With her latest illness she showed amazing courage and kept an optimistic spirit which I admired. We enjoyed some golf games together and it was great to see the pleasure she took in it.

We will miss Fiona’s cheerful personality. This comes with my sympathy to you and the family.
