PETERSON, Flora (nee Brook)
Passed away peacefully in her sleep August 8, 2010 at the age of 88. Predeceased by her loving husband, Elmer in April 2001; her grandson, Rickey in May 2005 and her siblings, Ed, Fred, Edith and Tom. Survived by her children, Richard (Shannon) Mason, Cindy (Glyn) Smith, Gary (Pamella) Mason; grandchildren, Phillip, Bradley, Krystle, Chelsea and Kellen; great granddaughters, Christa and Teagan. Elmer’s children, Mike (Joyce), Linda (Gerry), Roger (Pam), Susan, and their families.
Special thanks to the staff at Central Care Home where she lived and was cared for, for the last 3 years. A special mention goes to the nurses, Jan, Casey, Caroline, Andrea, Carol, Mary Elizabeth and the former janitor who visited mum on her last day.
A celebration of mum’s (Flora) life will be held at McCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
Mum, we will miss all your canned fruits, homemade jams and all the great sweaters you knit. All will fondly remember you.

My sincere condolences to Flora’s families. Although I was not too available through those times, I was certainly aware of the important and significant role she played as Uncle Pete’s wife and partner. Flora made all of us feel that we were a part of her and her family, as she was of ours. She will be truly missed, but remembered always.
