Passed away peacefully on September 22nd, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Florence was born on December 15, 1911 in Halifax, N.S. to Mary and John Ryan. Florence and Frank and their daughters moved to Victoria in 1944 to begin their new lives. Flo worked for many years at Woodward’s Department Store. Predeceased by her husband, Frank (1987); daughter, Joan (2006) and infant son, John; sisters, Marie and Marion. Florence is survived by her loving family, daughter, Audrey; sister, Irene and son-in-law, Harold; grandchildren, Leanne (Michael), Janet (Rick), David (Barb), Kevin (Renee),Cara (Doug), Dawn; great grandchildren, Laura, Andrea (Bob), Ryan, Amanda, Nick, Daryl, Jay, Thomas, Traci, Naomi and Teri and Jackie. Great-great-grandson, Alexander, made the fifth generation. Florence is also survived by many relatives back east, and good friends, Marie Bruck and Mary Galvin and many others in Victoria. She was a very active member of Holy Cross Church for many years.

Florence will be dearly missed by all, as a very kind and loving soul with a good sense of humour. Special thanks to Dr. David Meir, the nurses and staff at Central Park Lodge for the care of Florence, especially over the last few days.

Visitation and Prayer Services to be held at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held at Holy Cross Church, 4049 Gordon Head Rd. on Friday Sept. 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Eulogy to be given by Jack Nickolichuk, followed by a reception at the church hall. Burial to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park, 4049 Falaise Drive.
