SMILEY, Florence Marie (nee Gushue) 9 June 1940 24 January 2008 It is with profound sadness and shock that we announce the peaceful passing of Florence with her loving sons and sister by her side at home after a brave battle with cancer. Flo was a wonderful loving mother, and a kind, generous person always lending a hand to others. She passionately volunteered her time for many various causes throughout her life. She was predeceased by her father, brother, two sisters and survived by ex-husband Mike Smiley. Florence is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her two sons who feel so lost without her, Michael (Ruth) and Tim (Rachel), four beautiful grandchildren Dylan (and sister Tawni), Jamie, Katie and Nick, her mother Dorothy Gushue, sisters Janette (late Jack), Carol (late Jim), Teresa (Joe), Brenda (Johnny), Marlene (Johnny), Kim (Albert), her brothers Tom (Addee), Raymond, Robert, Bruce and Terry. We know that Mom loved and will greatly miss all of her family and precious friends Barb Wittke and family, Betty, Norah, Jonny and Eileen. We thank the doctors, nurses, Sooke Hospice, and all others involved with Mom’s battle, and Flo’s two boys extend a very special thank you to Aunt Janette for all her care provided to mom.
