Gary Edward Macdonald of Victoria, British Columbia passed away on March 6, 2025, at 65.
Born in Toronto, on November 28th, 1959, to the late Kaye Macdonald (nee Whitney) and John Macdonald. Gary grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, with his older siblings Lynda and Brian. He enjoyed playing baseball, hockey and his time at the family cottage growing up. An avid and accomplished bowler he began working at Northcrest Lanes at 13. This early start set him on his path to be a long-time manager of various bowling centres in London, Barrie, Vancouver, Nanaimo and most notably Mayfair Lanes in Victoria. A dedicated manager most known for his people skills. Later in life he enjoyed attending his son’s sporting events and watching sports on TV. His biggest love and joy was spending time with his family, his sons, daughter in law and his beloved granddaughters.
Loved father of Gregory, Bradley (Divina). Proudest Grandpa of Isabela and Yazmina. They were truly the light of his life. He will be sadly missed by his sister (Lynda), her husband Doug, his nieces and nephews, Aaron (Meghan) Legge, Bethany (Lee) McMullen, Cory (Courtney) Legge and Crystal Macdonald, and his sons mother, Lori Macdonald. Fondly remembered by his extended family. Predeceased by his parents John and Kaye Macdonald and his brother Brian.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, on Monday, March 17, 2025. The service will begin at 10:00 and there will be time for visiting following.
